Carving in stone has been done through the ages.Sculptures mostly found in temples

testimony of art and imagination of the craftsmen. Several

alabaster and soap stone.
Agra is well known for stone carvings inlaid with semi-precious stones.Taj Mehal is the great
living example of exquisite stone work. innumerable styles and
delicacies are seen in the
sculptures of Tamil Nadu,Andhra Pradesh,Kerala,Karnataka,Orissa and numerous other places
elsewhere in the country(India).
